While her fairy tales donвЂ™t tend to be the versionsВ most popular today, she was anВ influential figure in the history of the genre. Madame dвЂ™Aulnoy was aВ French countess/baroness and writer who published twoВ fairy tale collections, and who,В by dubbing her 1697 collection Les Contes des FГ©esВ (Fairy Tales), coined the term вЂњfairy talesвЂќ that we now use for the genre.
